Roxie
She is past those pesky puppy years and is ready to give many years of love to someone who will appreciate her maturity and will return that trust!
UPDATE: It was originally thought that Roxie had pneumonia. She had tested negative for heartworms at the shelter. Once we got this very sick girl, we found out she has one of the most serious cases of heartworm infestation we have seen. Her treatment will be rigorous and will be touch-and-go as we try to get her well and placed in her forever home. Please keep Roxie in your thoughts and prayers as she goes down this path.
Roxie is about 6.5 years old and is a pretty black and tan girl with nicely cropped ears. She has produced multiple litters in her years and was no longer producing ample puppies with each litter. So her "owner" turned her in to a notorious kill shelter in Louisiana where she had 3 days to live.
When we received Roxie she was very ill with an upper respiratory infection, no doubt something she contracted in the few days in the shelter. She is rebounding admirably and seems to enjoy the affection being lavished on her.
She really likes young children and people and is friendly to other dogs. She is a trusting soul. She is past those pesky puppy years and is ready to give many years of love to someone who will appreciate her maturity and will return that trust! Amazingly enough, Roxie is very healthy and has tested negative for heartworms.
