Clark
Clark needs love, affection, reassurance and someone to build his confidence.
Clark is a beautiful boy. Clark is the reason that Doberman rescue was formed. He is one of those great Dobermans who would have fallen through the cracks otherwise. He was brought to the City shelter by a policeman who had observed Clark abandoned and homeless, living under bushes at an apartment complex for over a year. He has been on his own, scared, starved with no place to call home, no one to love him and with no protection from people who taunted him. He is friendly and sweet to people and to other dogs, but needs reassurance that he will not be hurt or have anything thrown at him.
A true indication of his gentle, trusting nature even after all he has been through was the way he responded to the onslaught of medical treatments he has endured. He had a heavy case of heartworms with a lung infection when we began heartworm treatment. He handled the X-rays, blood work, and heartworm injections extremely well. Everyone who meets him falls hopelessly in love!
Clark's broken spirit is being restored. He truly exhibits the qualities that endear Dobermans to those who love them. He needs to be spoiled, loved, and cared for. He is easily scared and tries to retreat to a safe haven as he did for so long in the bushes. He needs love, affection, reassurance and someone to build his confidence. He is tolerant of cats -- chases them, but does not hurt them.
He LOVES having under his neck rubbed. He is a "treataholic" and will do ANYTHING for a treat. He knows sit, stay, down, look, and come. Someone taught him the word "break" as well and he knows "kennel up", and comes in and sits in his kennel waiting for a treat. He was loved at one time in the past, he deserves that now.
Clark is about 4 ˝ years old.
