Adoption
Want to adopt a rescued Doberman from HADR?
Some specific policies we have regarding adoption:
Our adoption process is quite simple. The first thing you need to do is read through our adoption policies page here then fill out our Adoption Application. At the bottom of this page you will find a submission link that states you have read and understand our policies regarding adoptions. If you agree to our policies click on the link that says "I understand your policies and would like to submit an application!". Doing so will take you to the Adoption Application page. Once there, complete the form and please make sure to click "Submit" at the bottom of the form! If you would rather fill our a paper version of the application, click here & mail or fax it to us: HADR 5925 Kirby, Suite E #755 Houston, Texas 77005.
After we receive your application, we will check your references. Please make sure all contact information for your references is up to date. Start thinking of a time your family will be together so we may send a HADR representative to complete the home visit. The home visit is not to critique your home. We need to see the environment where the dog will live. It gives us a chance to answer your questions. Upon completion of the home visit and reference check, HADR will decide whether or not we can place a Doberman in your home. Remember, we are extremely selective in choosing our adopters. We invest time, effort, money, and most importantly LOVE and AFFECTION in these dogs.
If you are approved, we will begin introducing you to the dogs we have in foster homes. Please see Available Dogs for information on our current dogs. We also have some great pictures and stories about the dogs that have been adopted, see Success Stories. The adoption process involves some time and effort, but be patient....we want to ensure that we match you with the right dog. Once a match has been made, we will execute the Adoption Contract, and collect the adoption fee. The fee is $250 for dogs under 8 years old and $150 for dogs 8+ years old.
